BITUMEN – INDIVIDUAL SOLUTIONS SUITED TO THE APPLICATION

The basis for bitumen accumulates as a residue during the production of fuels, lubricants, heating oil and other mineral oil products in the classic refinery process. Bitumen is not a finished product, but a mixture - a highly complex colloidal system of various chemical substance groups.

The bitumen specialist within the Petronord Group is the company NordBit GmbH & Co. KG.

Using reliably constant bitumen components and in cooperation with the customers, high-quality product solutions are developed in the individual application areas. The processes are managed - supported by an in-house laboratory and by extensive expertise within the company; the raw materials and the end products are always subject to strict quality monitoring.

NordBit's extensive bitumen range can be divided into three application areas:

• Binders, especially for industrial applications, such as for bitumen emulsions, printing inks, carpet tiles.
• Bitumen and modified binders for road construction - which often go far beyond the properties formulated in the specifications of EN 12591 and EN 14023.
• Binders that have been specially optimised for the production of roofing membranes. Here, for example, the focus is on properties such as increased ageing resistance and/or increased compatibility with polymers.
