HVO – INTELLIGENT REFUELLING WITH INNOVATIVE DIESEL FUEL

HVO stands for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil. It is produced from vegetable oils, waste, oils and fats from residual materials such as used cooking oil. Hydrogen is used to convert the vegetable oils into paraffins. This allows their properties to be matched to those of fossil fuels. HVO can be used either as an additive to conventional diesel fuel or to replace it completely.

Petronord Group's HVO meets the DIN EN 15940 standard and is approved by most Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). This means that HVO can be used without modification in diesel engines approved by the manufacturer - i.e. in cars, trucks, vans, taxis, machinery and commercial vehicles. OEM approval means that HVO can be used without invalidating the warranty. If in doubt, it is advisable to contact the vehicle manufacturer.

The approval of HVO as a pure fuel is currently being processed in Germany. The current status can be found here
