Expansion of Lubricant Business: Petronord is Taking a Share in JB GERMAN OIL GmbH & Co. KG

On 1 March 2008, LSE Lubes Service GmbH & Co. KG, an associated company of Petronord Energie- und Wärmekonzepte GmbH, together with Mr Jürgen Baumgarten, has incorporated the business operations of a new company. The new company has acquired the wholesale business of SMV GmbH lubricant production Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Wittenburg and the rights to the brand JB GERMAN OIL®. Jürgen Baumgarten and Marcus Thiemann will be the managers.

SMV currently sells lubricants from its own filling plant to 27 countries worldwide, with business focus in Eastern Europe.

Petronord thus continues the developments of the lubricant activities and the end consumer diversification.


Petronord is a subsidiary of Mabanaft, the trading division of Marquard & Bahls AG, Hamburg. Petronord acts as an intermediate holding company for a number of energy service providers in Germany and in Austria. 17 retail companies currently belong to Petronord, which is primarily active in the heating oil business, lubricants distribution, and the operation of pool stations. ► back to the overview
