Expansion of the Retail Business: Acquisition of John Schmierstoffe GmbH, Altlandsberg

Hamburg | 12.12.2013

Effective January 1, 2014, John Schmierstoffe GmbH, Altlandsberg (Brandenburg) will commence operating under the umbrella of Petronord. The company is one of the leading lubricant traders in the Berlin-Brandenburg region and also serves customers in other federal states.

Since 1990, John Schmierstoffe has been active in selling lubricants. From its corporate headquarters in Altlandsberg on the outskirts of Berlin, the company supplies its regular customers in the region from along the Polish border to Berlin. The company sells Total and Texaco branded lubricants as well as products under its private label named John.

John Schmierstoffe employs 13 people, and will be headed by Thomas John and Volker Tiedemann as Managing Directors.

With this step, Petronord continues the expansion and diversification of its retail business while maintaining a strong focus on the regional identity of fellow partners. The acquisition of the new company also creates interesting potential synergies within the Petronord Group.

Petronord is a subsidiary of Mabanaft, the trading division of Marquard & Bahls, Germany. Under the umbrella of Petronord, 23 retail companies in Germany and Austria are currently active in the heating oil and diesel fuel end-consumer business, the lubricants distribution, the operation of service stations for commercial trucking fleets („pool stations“) as well as in the trading of bitumen, wood pellets, and natural gas. ► back to the overview
