Kiessling Energie GmbH & Co. KG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petronord GmbH & Co. KG, a company newly established as part of the acquisition, has taken over the Lauterhofen-based Kiessling companies owned by Alfred and Michael Riediger as part of an asset deal, with effect from May 1, 2016. Kiessling is an established heating oil and lubricant distributor in the Nuremberg / Upper Palatinate region.
Founded in 1918, Kiessling delivers heating oil, gasoline and diesel fuel to households, commercial end users, and resellers. The company is also active in lubricant sales. As a regional dealer for Kuwait Petroleum International Lubricants, Kiessling sells a wide range of lubricant products under the Q8 brand to industry, retail, and the crafts trade, as well as to municipal facilities in northern Bavaria. The company also owns an independent gas station with a shop in Lauterhofen.
Kiessling employs 16 people and has its own fleet of vehicles. Richard Böttcher has served as the company’s Managing Director since the beginning of May; Michael Riediger is responsible for the operational business at headquarters.
With this purchase Petronord continues the expansion and diversification of its end-consumer business, and adds another region to the existing southern German sales territories of the Petronord holdings Böttcher (Regensburg), Deglmann (Weiden) and Zieglmeier (Schrobenhausen). The acquisition also opens up synergies within the Petronord Group and with Mabanaft Deutschland.
Petronord is a subsidiary of Mabanaft, the trading division of Marquard & Bahls, Germany. Under the umbrella of Petronord, 27 retail companies in Germany and Austria are currently active in the heating oil and diesel fuel end-consumer business, the lubricants distribution, the operation of service stations for commercial trucking fleets (“pool stations”) as well as in the trading of bitumen, wood pellets, and natural gas. ► back to the overview
