The Petronord subsidiary Mabanol Bitumen GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg, and H&R Refining GmbH, Salzbergen, are establishing a joint venture to systematically market bitumen and bitumen components.
The two partners will own equal stakes in the Hamburg-based joint venture, whose establishment is pending approval by the antitrust authorities. The newly founded joint venture purchases and markets bitumen products from the H&R production sites in Hamburg and Salzbergen among others.
The joint venture will be led by Robertus van Lingen and Frank Albrecht – both of Mabanol Bitumen GmbH & Co. KG – as well as Angela Sahm, who was appointed by H&R Refining GmbH.
Petronord is a subsidiary of Mabanaft, the trading division of Marquard & Bahls, Germany. Under the umbrella of Petronord, 27 retail companies in Germany and Austria are currently active in the heating oil and diesel end-consumer business, the lubricants distribution, the operation of service stations for commercial trucking fleets (“pool stations“) as well as in the trading of bitumen, wood pellets, and natural gas.

KGaA, the group operates two specialty refineries in Germany, in Hamburg and Salzbergen.
