TOTAL Mineralöl GmbH (TMG) and Mühlenbruch Stinnes GmbH & Co. KG (Mühlenbruch Stinnes) plan to merge their heating oil business in Bremen and Bremerhaven into a joint company. The new joint venture is to be managed equally by TOTAL and Mühlenbruch Stinnes, a subsidiary of Petronord GmbH & Co. KG. Besides private and commercial end-consumer business with heating oil, diesel and AdBlue®, the new company will also sell pellets, electricity, and natural gas.
The merger affects a total of 15 employees at the two companies, all of whom will keep their jobs. The Bremen and Bremerhaven offices will also be kept, with the Bremen office merely moving to a different location in the city.
Jan Petersen, Managing Director of TMG, said: “The joint venture will allow us to continue reliably supplying our customers in Bremen and Bremerhaven with heating oil and diesel at attractive prices.”
Peter Prien, Managing Director of Mühlenbruch Stinnes, is also very positive about the merger of the businesses: “Our customers will have a broad product range, combined with the extensive know-how of two strong partners. And personal service continues to be our top priority!”
The Managing Directors of the new entity will be Peter Prien and Uwe Rettinghausen, Sales Director End Users at TMG. The joint venture will do business as a TOTAL brand partner, so that customers will recognize both partners in it.
The joint venture is scheduled to start operating at the beginning of 2018, pending the approval of Germany’s antitrust authorities.
