Worth knowing:
In contrast to many other European countries, the sale of HVO as a pure fuel is currently not permitted in Germany. Only an admixture of max. 26% with conventional diesel fuel and for private use at self-service stations.
The Federal Council has recently formally adopted the amendment to the 10th BImSchV (Ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act). This creates the legal basis for the sale of HVO as a pure fuel at public filling stations. This ordinance will enter into force on the day after its promulgation, but no earlier than April 13, 2024.
HVO can play an important role on the road to sustainable energy production.
